Seedream 5 Lite: Faster Image Generation Without the Premium Price

Seedream 5 Lite is now available on Poly through OpenRouter. It is the faster, lower-cost member of ByteDance's Seedream 5 family, built for workflows where iteration and range matter as much as the final frame.

The model accepts text and image input, generates at 2K or 4K resolution, and can return as many as four images from one request. It also supports up to 14 reference images, giving creative teams a practical way to explore a visual system instead of prompting each asset in isolation.

Built for the Exploration Loop

The strongest reason to use Lite is volume with direction. A single prompt can produce several candidates, while references can anchor color, composition, product shape, or character details.

OpenRouter currently lists Seedream 5 Lite at $0.035 per output image. It supports 2K and 4K generation and between one and four outputs per request.

The lower unit price makes it easier to ask for alternatives instead of overloading one prompt with every requirement. Generate a small set, identify what works, then refine the strongest direction.

Choose Lite for breadth, speed, and batches. Choose Seedream 5 Pro when one selected direction needs the family's premium generation and editing route.
