T3 Chat also deserves credit for documenting how its usage meter works. The current system uses a Base bucket that refills every four hours and an Overage bucket that refreshes monthly. Longer threads, larger attachments, search, and expensive models consume more. That is more nuanced than a simple message count, but it reflects the real cost of running different models.

T3 Chat also states that it opts out of provider training where possible and clearly identifies cases where a new model requires different data handling.

Where Poly Is Better

Poly is built for the point where a chat stops being a quick exchange and becomes ongoing work.

The model can change without forcing the user to reconstruct the task. A fast model can sketch the direction, a stronger model can do the difficult pass, and another provider can review the result. The better question is what the additional $7.99 is replacing.

If Poly replaces only T3 Chat, the cheaper product may be enough. If Poly also replaces a separate image generator, presentation tool, model-comparison routine, or additional AI subscription, the economics change.
